Since 1991, POOLgroup has been involved in major international summits – taking responsibility for overall design, logistics, and technical planning as well as subsequent delivery. From G7 and G20 summits and bilateral state and government meetings to international conferences – our task is to create functional, secure, and sustainable infrastructure for both conference and press areas at very short notice, meeting the exacting demands of high-level political events.

A secluded castle in the Bavarian Alps, in the middle of a nature reserve: Conference rooms, interpreting technology, and a fully equipped press center had to be set up for the summit without making any lasting impact on the natural environment. Nature conservation was paramount: By using reusable materials, climate‑friendly power supplies, air‑source heat pumps, and thoughtfully designed temporary structures, sustainability became the guiding principle for the entire project. Delivery was entrusted to an experienced team who precisely coordinated architecture, technology, logistics, and security.

In the heart of a major metropolis, our experts transformed the Hamburg Exhibition Center into a conference venue for 6,000 delegates and an international media center for 8,000 journalists. As well as adapting and optimizing the space, we equipped the halls with state‑of‑the‑art media technology, production and interpreting systems, and temporary sets and exhibition stands. At the same time, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall was configured to host a state dinner in a remarkably short time, with architectural and technical preparations including precisely calibrated lighting, audio, and video systems, together with the infrastructure needed for a gala dinner. By closely cooperating on site, our team flawlessly integrated a wide range of requirements, despite the tight deadlines.

Preparing four locations in four months: conference facilities in the castle, a Briefing Center, and an International Media Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen as well as arrivals at Munich Airport. Once again, sustainability and security were paramount – backed by a cabinet-level decision of the Federal Government. This called for various temporary structures, redundant media technology, IT networks, interpreting and conference technology, lighting and rigging solutions as well as in-house trial builds and rehearsals. More than 2,500 media professionals were able fully concentrate on their work thanks to the environment we created. This was achieved by a crew who expertly leveraged their experience, precision, and clear workflows across all locations.
