Four cities in five days, a stage 10,000 meters in the clouds: The iNext world flight introduced BMW’s new concept car in a converted 777F cargo plane – with stopovers in Munich, New York, San Francisco, and Beijing.

Holding a product presentation in an aircraft poses particular challenges: Strict air freight regulations, tight time windows due to flight schedules and slots, limited space in the fuselage. And then there was the added logistical dimensions – moving personnel, technology, and material across several continents as well as assembling and dismantling everything as quickly as possible.

Together with NIYU and in close cooperation with Zeeh Design, POOLgroup planned and managed all the technical and organizational aspects. Built-in audio systems, an LED floor, projections, tailored lighting installations, an LED ceiling, and specially engineered architecture transformed the cargo aircraft’s interior into the perfect platform to present the concept car.
Two crews – “Independence” and “Freedom” – worked in parallel. While one team prepared the next site, the other ensured everything ran smoothly on the current site. Meticulous preparation, including comprehensive pre-build and programming, meant each show ran smoothly, even under such stringent conditions.
